Dr. Gifford’s passion for bowling began early. At just 14 years old, he worked cleaning bowling lanes by hand after school—simply so he could practice once his shift ended. Today, he has bowled more than 30,000 games, including 15 perfect games, and maintains an impressive league average of 215. It’s no surprise he’s a sought-after teammate. When he’s not bowling or coaching Oregon Special Olympics, or caring for patients, Dr. Gifford enjoys family life with his three young daughters.
Dr. Gifford earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the OHSU School of Dentistry and holds undergraduate degrees in General Science and Biological Sciences, graduating cum laude from Oregon State University Honors College. He was the founder of Gifford Family Dentistry and has served as faculty at Pacific University and in the Oregon AGD IV Sedation Course. A recognized leader in organized dentistry, Dr. Gifford has held presidential roles within the Oregon Academy of General Dentistry and the Multnomah Dental Society. His professional excellence and service have been honored with multiple awards, including the Gerald E. Bruce Community Service Award and the Oregon Howard Prize Memorial Competition (1st Place). Dr. Gifford is deeply committed to community service and dental outreach through organizations such as Give Kids A Smile and Oregon Mission of Mercy, and he supports education through an annual merit scholarship to a local high school student.
