Dr. Cameron Schwab, DMD Portland, OR
Dr. Cameron (Ainslie) Schwab is an Oregon native who grew up in West Linn and attended All Saints and Central Catholic High School. Although she ventured out of state for her education, she always knew she would return home to Oregon. Dr. Schwab completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Kentucky, earning a degree in Human Health Sciences with a minor in studio art with an emphasis in photography. She went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry, where she discovered her passion for comprehensive general dentistry and involvement in organized dentistry.
In 2023, Dr. Schwab proudly returned to Oregon to be closer to her family, friends, and the community she calls home. She joined Gifford Family Dentistry in 2024 and is honored to continue the tradition of high-quality, patient-centered care established by Dr. Gifford.
Creating meaningful relationships with patients is at the heart of Dr. Schwab’s approach to dentistry. Inspired to become a dentist at just seven years old—thanks in part to her father, an orthodontist—she is committed to providing a welcoming, compassionate environment where patients feel comfortable, heard, and respected. Dr. Schwab places a strong emphasis on patient education and believes in presenting treatment options clearly and simply so patients can feel confident in their care. She takes extra care to talk patients through procedures in real time, helping them feel relaxed and at ease throughout their visit.
Understanding that dental visits can be stressful, especially for patients with anxiety, Dr. Schwab has pursued extensive additional training to enhance patient comfort. Her advanced education includes oral and IV sedation, expanded oral surgery experience (including complex extractions and wisdom teeth), and continuing education focused on TMJ and orofacial pain. She has a special interest in treating TMJ disorders and offers both custom night guards and Botox® therapy to help patients find relief and improve their quality of life.
Dr. Schwab is deeply committed to organized dentistry and supporting her colleagues. She is an active member of the Oregon Dental Association, serving on the Membership Council, is President-Elect of the Multnomah Dental Society, sits on the Continuing Education Committee for the Oregon Academy of General Dentistry, and mentors OHSU dental students through the ODA Mentor Pod program. She is also pursuing her Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry through the Oregon chapter to stay at the forefront of modern dental care.
Outside the office, Dr. Schwab lives in Canby, Oregon with her husband, Spencer. Together they enjoy cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats, attending Trail Blazers, Winterhawks, Timbers, and Pickles games, and spending time outdoors hiking, biking, and playing tennis. They are enthusiastic food lovers who enjoy exploring new restaurants, cooking from scratch for friends and family, and sampling local craft beer and wine.
